The Seniors Section

We have over 130 members in the Seniors Section and the easy way to meet them is to simply turn-up on a Monday, Wednesday or Friday morning between 07.30 and 09.30 (the most popular time is just before 08.00), and make-up a four ball with whoever arrives next.  These are the unofficial roll-ups, although Wednesday & Friday mornings can sometimes be quite busy because other non-Senior members also use these days.

Monday mornings 07.00 to 10.00 is the normal official Seniors tee time, with competitions being held on most Mondays.

There are regular events – Medals, Stablefords, Scrambles, etc. Entry to regular competitions in now done only via the Club website which can be accessed either at the Club or at home.  Advance notices appear on the locker room board 3 weeks in advance.  When entering a competition you are encouraged to enter yourself in any available time slot as this is another good way to mix with other members.

In the course of the year about 30 friendly matches are played by the Seniors Section.  These matches are played against other clubs in the area and entry for these matches is also now done online via the Club website.  There are some additional trophy competitions such as the Knighton Heath Trophy in the summer and the Winter League during the winter months, both of which are  knock-out events.

For over 30 years we have run an annual Seniors Open event in the summer.  It is available for entry by all men players over the age of 60 who hold an active CONGU handicap of 24 or less.  If you qualify and would like to enter this event then please visit the Senior Open Page .

Perhaps considering joining a new Golf Club?

Why not consider joining us here at Salisbury & South Wilts where we have a very active Seniors Section managed by an excellent pro-active  Committee.

To be a member of this popular and growing  Section there is an annual subscription fee of just £10 due in January.   However, the  Section runs a '100 Club' monthly raffle with prizes worth up to £100 and multiple benefits for ALL the Seniors Members.  There is currently no additional annual subscription fee for being a member of the Seniors Section but should it be introduced, then as a fully signed-up '100 Club' Member, this additional subscription fee is waived.

If you would like more information about the Seniors Section and its workings , please contact our Club Manager, Andy Beal, who will be able to provide you with any answers to your questions and guide you through the whole joining process.
