New Covid-19 restrictions for golf

This week’s announcement from the Prime Minister of tighter restrictions to combat the spread of Covid-19 has not changed the existing guidance on how golf can be played.

However, it has had an impact on the following aspects of facility management:

Bar and catering facilities in clubhouses to close at 10pm

Table service only for food and beverage

Face coverings must be worn by staff, members and visitors in all indoor areas of the clubhouse and pro’s shop.

Clubs/ facilities to display an official NHS QR Code poster so that visitors can ‘check-in’ as an alternative to providing their contact details

In addition to these nationwide regulations, stricter localised measures may be in place and these could supersede the general guidance.

Privacy Notice: Important details for all members

Clubs were last week emailed details of the England Golf World Handicap System privacy notice.

If you missed this vital communication, it can be downloaded here.

It is important for clubs to inform all current members of the privacy notice by 5 October 2020 as part of ongoing communications around WHS.

From 5 October onwards, clubs must include the privacy notice in welcome documentation to make sure new members are aware of how England Golf will handle their data.
